Minimum Eligibility Requirements

The CPQS is a post-qualification quality charter. To enroll, candidates must possess foundational clinical knowledge and proven operational skills through one of the following pathways:

Academic Pathway: Graduates holding degrees or diplomas in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT / B.Sc. MLT), Pharmacy (D.Pharm / B.Pharm / Pharm.D), Nursing, or allied Life Sciences.
Experiential Pathway: Practicing phlebotomists, diagnostic collection center technicians, or healthcare workers must possess a minimum of 2 years of verifiable phlebotomy experience. This experience must include a minimum of 800 documented blood draws completed via venipuncture, capillary puncture, butterfly needle, or syringe.

Credential Verification & Zero-Tolerance Fraud Policy

ICQAS conducts randomized and targeted audits of candidate experience credentials. Employment history and blood-draw volumes are strictly verifiable directly with the candidate's current or former employer.

Penalty for Falsification

If ICQAS discovers that a candidate has submitted fake, fraudulent, or manipulated experience documents, the certification will be immediately cancelled, all fees will be permanently forfeited, and the candidate will face a lifetime ban from attempting any ICQAS examination.

Examination Structure

Format: 100 Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs).
Assessment Style: Strictly scenario-based and clinically applied. Candidates are tested on troubleshooting, order of draw mechanics, ethical dilemmas, and risk mitigation rather than rote memorization.
Passing Threshold: A rigorous, non-negotiable 70% passing score is required to earn the charter.
Delivery: Administered globally via a secure, AI-proctored digital examination infrastructure.

Examination Schedule & Lifetime Attempt Policy

To maintain the integrity of the charter, ICQAS enforces a structured examination lifecycle with strict limits on attempts:

Testing WindowsExaminations are officially scheduled thrice a year.

Initial AttemptCandidates are subject to a mandatory 90-day minimum preparation period from their date of registration and fee payment before they are permitted to attempt their first examination.

Standard Retake Provisions (Attempts 2 & 3)If a candidate does not meet the 70% passing threshold on their first attempt, they are entitled to schedule a second and third attempt. Candidates may schedule these subsequent attempts immediately upon paying the standard examination fee for each sitting; the 90-day waiting period is waived for standard retakes.

The 4th and Final Attempt (Conditional)Candidates are granted a maximum of 3 standard lifetime attempts. If a candidate fails their 3rd attempt, they are barred from re-registering UNLESS they complete mandatory practical retraining. A 4th and final attempt will only be authorized after the candidate submits documented proof of training at an ICQAS-designated diagnostic laboratory, hospital, corporate facility, or authorized training center.
